Bondex Inc., a maker of thermally bonded nonwoven materials said it is expanding its existing operations in Edgefield County, S.C. The $6.4 million investment is expected to generate 13 new jobs.

Bondex Inc. is expanding the company’s nonwovens production plant in Trenton, S.C. in order to add a new product line, which will allow the company to produce industrial laminates and composites for the electrical and electronic markets, as well as other specialty areas. The company will add 33,000 square feet of space to the facility, doubling the plant’s size. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of this year’s fourth quarter with production starting in January 2013.

We celebrate Bondex Inc.’s decision to invest $6.4 million and create 13 new jobs in Trenton,” said South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Since January 2011, South Carolina has recruited more than $7 billion in capital investment and more than 17,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector.

Bondex Inc. has operated in Trenton, S.C. since 1997.
